I have loved taking pictures for as long as I can remember. I received my first point and shoot 35 mm camera the summer between seventh and eighth grades. It was a gift given from my father for a trip to California with my grandparents and little sister. That was more than 30 years ago.
In high school, I became fascinated with Ansel Adams black & white images of nature landscapes and I collected his calendars. Years later, I experienced an exhibit of his work at the High Museum in Atlanta. In April 2013, I was able to stand at the overlook in Yosemite National Park and shoot the same landscape from Ansel Adams' collection. Visiting Yosemite has been one of my most amazing experiences as a photographer.
I have been fortunate to travel and shoot numerous historical places and scenic landscapes. (Washington, D.C., London, Edinburgh, Boston, Philadelphia, New York, New Orleans, Memphis, Austin, Nashville, Annapolis, Seattle, St. Louis, Charleston, Savannah, San Antonio, Dallas, Indianapolis, San Francisco, Rome, Florence, Venice, and Las Vegas just to name a few).
I was a middle school English/Language Arts teacher for seventeen years. During which time, I honed my skills as the school's photographer (portraits, athletics, school events, graduations and award ceremonies).
I love capturing beautiful places and special moments.
